Confusion
An emotion that arises from unclear, conflicting or incomplete information.
Why do I feel this way?
Confusion emerges when your mind struggles to organize information, options or understanding.
It can be frustrating but it also signals growth, your brain is stretching into something new.
How to change or channel it
- Break down the situation into smaller, clearer pieces.
- Ask questions, even basic ones.
- Be patient: Confusion often precedes clarity.
- Choose one step forward even if the full path is not visible yet.

Living with this feeling
Original Lantern Project guidance inspired by this topic. This section is not copied from the source book.
Riley notices confusion after an experience that is difficult to put into words. Instead of judging the feeling or forcing it away, Riley names what is present and chooses one supportive practice: break down the situation into smaller, clearer pieces.. The feeling may still be there, but it is no longer the only voice directing the moment. Riley has created enough space to choose what comes next with greater care.
“I can acknowledge confusion without letting it define every part of me. I can listen to what it may be showing me and choose one caring next step.”
What might confusion be asking me to notice, protect, accept, express, or change today?
