Satisfaction
An emotion that arises from achieving a goal or fulfilling a need.
Why do I feel this way?
Satisfaction emerges when effort meets reward, when what you sought is reached or a need is honored.
It is the emotional closing of a loop, a confirmation that something mattered and was worth pursuing.
How to change or channel it
- Allow yourself to savor the win without rushing to the next goal.
- Reflect on what strengths and choices led to satisfaction.
- Share the feeling as acknowledgment multiplies joy.
- Beware of drifting into complacency, stay open to future growth.

Living with this feeling
Original Lantern Project guidance inspired by this topic. This section is not copied from the source book.
Avery notices satisfaction during a quiet moment that creates room to notice what is present. Instead of judging the feeling or forcing it away, Avery names what is present and chooses one supportive practice: allow yourself to savor the win without rushing to the next goal.. The feeling may still be there, but it is no longer the only voice directing the moment. Avery has created enough space to choose what comes next with greater care.
“I can acknowledge satisfaction without letting it define every part of me. I can listen to what it may be showing me and choose one caring next step.”
What might satisfaction be asking me to notice, protect, accept, express, or change today?
