Isolation
An emotion that arises from disconnection from others or oneself.
Why do I feel this way?
Isolation is the experience of being physically or emotionally separated (from others, from support, or even from your own inner self).
It signals a deep human need for belonging and meaning.
How to change or channel it
- Acknowledge that isolation is real, painful and human.
- Reach out in tiny ways: A text, an online group or a shared hobby.
- Connect back to yourself: Journaling, reflection, meditation.
- Know that bridges to others can be rebuilt.

Living with this feeling
Original Lantern Project guidance inspired by this topic. This section is not copied from the source book.
Morgan notices isolation after a day when connection has felt distant. Instead of judging the feeling or forcing it away, Morgan names what is present and chooses one supportive practice: acknowledge that isolation is real, painful and human.. The feeling may still be there, but it is no longer the only voice directing the moment. Morgan has created enough space to choose what comes next with greater care.
“I can acknowledge isolation without letting it define every part of me. I can listen to what it may be showing me and choose one caring next step.”
What might isolation be asking me to notice, protect, accept, express, or change today?
